Welcome to the Compassioned Animal Rescue and Education web site.

While we recognize we cannot rescue every animal, we are committed to doing everything we can for the animals we do rescue.

Compassioned Animal Rescue and Education (C.A.R.E.) is a foster home network dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for animals that are in need of rescue or adoption.

C.A.R.E. was formed specifically to be a safety net for "ugly ducklings", the animals deemed un-adoptable by other agencies and shelters. Over the years of working with many shelters, both private and public, our founders realized that many animals were deemed un-adoptable due to reasons that were correctable and temporary. Most times these were lovely, wonderful animals who were at the lowest point of their lives during the time of rescue, and their behavior, appearance and health could not reasonably be expected to be normal.

C.A.R.E. was founded to educate all people on the value of all animals; cute, ugly, ill, injured, old and young. We have found that with rare exception, using natural foods, humane treatment, training and behavior modification, in conjunction with a stable, loving foster home and medical care, animals we rescue can become beloved companions. Their adopters often cannot fathom these animals were once considered "un-adoptable" or unworthy of living. C.A.R.E. animals are all spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and given any medical treatment needed before being available for adoption.

Urgent, C.A.R.E., is in great need of your help. Please see our wish list for ways that you can help.

C.A.R.E. also assists people wishing to re-home their own pets on a referral basis.

Because C.A.R.E. is a foster home network, we are only able to handle a relatively small number of animals at a time and rely heavily on donations and volunteers.

If you have any questions about C.A.R.E. or any of our animals you can contact us by sending an email to, info@compassionedrescue.org, or by sending a letter to:
